Philipp J. Bösel ist Grafikdesigner, Fotograf und visueller Gestalter, dessen kreative Laufbahn von internationaler Ausbildung und langjähriger Medienarbeit geprägt ist. Seine akademische Basis legte er an der renommierten Middlesex University London, die er mit einem Bachelor of Arts in Film & Video in Art & Design sowie einem Master of Arts in Computing in Design erfolgreich abschloss.
Seit 1989 stellt Philipp J. Bösel sein visuelles Gespür beim WDR in Köln unter Beweis. Mehr als ein Jahrzehnt prägte er im WDR-Fernsehen die Abteilung Grafik-Trick-Foto im Bereich des On-Air-Designs. Mit dem digitalen Wandel 2000 wechselte er in die WDR-Internetredaktion. Hier verbindet er heute Webdesign mit professioneller Redaktionsfotografie und gestaltet den digitalen Auftritt des Senders maßgeblich mit.
Von 1992 bis 1997 gab er sein Wissen als Lehrbeauftragter an der Kunsthochschule für Medien (KHM) in Köln weiter und betreute Studierende bei anspruchsvollen gestalterischen und künstlerischen Projekten.
Ein zentraler Pfeiler seiner Arbeit sind konzeptionelle Fotoprojekte, die im In- und Ausland in Ausstellungen präsentiert werden.

Philipp J. Bösel is a graphic designer, photographer and visual designer whose creative career has been shaped by an international education and many years of experience in the media. He laid the foundations for his academic career at the renowned Middlesex University in London, from which he successfully graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Film & Video in Art & Design and a Master of Arts in Computing in Design.
Philipp J. Bösel has been demonstrating his visual flair at WDR in Cologne since 1989. For more than a decade, he shaped the Graphics, Animation and Photography department at WDR Television in the field of on-air design. With the digital revolution in 2000, he moved to the WDR Internet editorial team. Here, he now combines web design with professional editorial photography and plays a key role in shaping the broadcaster’s digital presence.
From 1992 to 1997, he passed on his knowledge as a lecturer at the Academy of Media Arts (KHM) in Cologne , supervising students on challenging design and artistic projects.
A central pillar of his work is conceptual photography projects, which are presented in exhibitions both in Germany and abroad.
Philipp J. Bösel is an appointed member of the German Photographic Society (DGPh).
